Piovene Rocchette: Between History and Nature of the Prealps
The tour starts from Piovene Rocchette, a small town nestled in the prealpine hills, known for its mining history and panoramic views over the surrounding valleys. Here, the former Rocchette-Arsiero railway is taken, featuring gentle and consistent climbs immersed in nature.
The surface is mixed, with dirt sections and short descents, perfect for getting comfortable on the bike and enjoying the first natural glimpses of the day.
Arsiero: The gate to Val Posina
Upon reaching Arsiero, the landscape changes. The mountains narrow around the valley, and the environment becomes more alpine. Here begins the climb towards Posina: steady gradients, never too steep, on secondary asphalt roads and well-packed dirt sections.
The effort is gradual and accompanied by increasingly wide views of the surrounding peaks.
The Laghi di Posina: Silence at Altitude
After a short stretch of provincial road, the tour continues towards the Laghi di Posina, small artificial lakes surrounded by greenery, woods, and pastures.
Here, the atmosphere is intimate and quiet. It’s the perfect spot for a rejuvenating break: there’s the opportunity to taste local products, take panoramic photos, and relax for a few minutes before tackling the second part of the ride.
The feeling is that of having conquered a hidden corner, far from tourist crowds.
